Stereo and Mono Sound
The difference between Stereo and Mono sound is that Mono has only one audio channel, whereas Stereo creates a more three dimensional space by having more independent audio channels.
Mono
- Due to being less complicated than stereo it's also less expensive for recording and reproduction purposes
- Sounds like it's only coming from one direction
- Easy to record
- Used for: Radio talk shows, hearing aids, mobile communication
Stereo
- Due to being more complicated it is more expensive for recording and reproduction purposes
- Sounds like the sound is coming from multiple different directions; creates a three dimensional space
- Requires more skill to record
- Used for: Movies, Television, music players, radio stations
