BSA 101 (Intro to Film) Week 5 Notes
Focal length is the distance between the optical of the lens and the image center.
It is measured in millimeters.
There are different types of lenses:
Zoom lens - Adjustable focal length
Prime lens - Fixed focal length (examples of these lenses: 30mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm)
"Parfocal" - Focus is not lost when zooming
"Varifocal" - Re-focusing is required after every zoom (change in focal length)
Audio
SRA - Signal to noise ratio
(The comparison that exists between the sound and background noise)
AGC - Changes sensitivity depending on volume of the sound
(Cleans signal depending on environment)
